The purpose of the Golden Warriors Ministry is to enhance and improve the quality of life to all Ebenezer Church members age seventy and above by showing honor, love and appreciation.
We want to be truly a blessing to them through the graciousness of God. These members have reached an age, which is full of experience and knowledge. Because they have worked diligently, we believe it is our time to show them love and enhance their lives through various activities throughout the year.
In order for our ministry to fund various activities for the warriors, each member of the Golden Warriors Ministry pledge monetarily every year. The only other funds we receive is through a fundraiser, such as our annual Girlfriend luncheon held in August and through donations from those who support our cause. During our girlfriend luncheon the ministry members prepare over 40 salads. We have approximately 160 ladies in attendance. We play games where lots of valuable prizes given away and other entertaining activities. It is a fun time for all the ladies who attend. The donation to attend the luncheon is only $15.00 for early registration. These donations, pledges and fundraiser allow us to sponsor the following activities:
Annual indoor picnic in the fellowship hall with games and other activities such as Bingo
Gifts given during special holidays such as Mother and Father’s day, and Christmas
Thanksgiving dinner at Ole Time Country Buffet
Annual Christmas Gala - A catered dinner is served. As part of the Gala, there is a candle lighting service where we honor the deceased warrior. A family member is asked to attend the gala to light a candle in their honor.
A monetary gift is presented to the widow/widower or caregiver of the deceased warrior. The ministry honors the family by serving at the repast in the fellowship hall.
Birthday cards are sent to them celebrating their blessed event.
